Tankerton Foreshore is located on French Island in Western Port Bay and welcomes both park visitors and local residents who access the island via Tankerton Jetty. It offers a public toilet, parking for residents and a small grassy foreshore with a picnic table.

Walking, cycling, and fishing are popular activities to embark on from the foreshore. Come prepared with food and water as there is limited supplies with only a general store located a 3km, one hour walk from the foreshore.

Koalas are in abundance and you will be able to spot them sleeping in the eucalypt trees which line the trails and roads. Be sure to keep to existing paths and tracks if heading out for a walk as snakes are active and prevalent in the warmer months.

Dogs, cats and other domestic animals are not permitting within French Island National Park. Dogs are to be kept on leads when not on private land, especially near bushland and conservation areas.

The trapping is part of the French Island Feral Cat Eradication Program. The objective of this program is to eradicate feral cats from the island to help support native wildlife.
