Part of park closure Woowookarung RP (forest block between Wilson Street and Yorke Street

A planned burn is scheduled by Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMVIC) on the 20th March 2026, pending suitable conditions.
To support fire fighters undertaking these critical works, a small part of Woowookarung Regional Park, in between Yorke Street and Wilson Street, will be closed from Thursday 19 March - till Monday 30th March. The burn is expected to be completed in 1 day, followed by make-safe works on the official visitor trails the days after. This can take up to 10 days. 

Cathie Street Car Park and parts of the Fern and Cherry Ballart Loops will be closed during this period.
Please follow any direction on signage or instructions from Forest Fire Management Victoria personnel on site.
