Devil Cove Campground (Lake Eildon National Park)
Devil Cove is one of several well-equipped campgrounds around Lake Eildon. There is no boat ramp, making it best suited to walkers and nature lovers looking to relax. Wake to the call of native birds and friendly kangaroos grazing in the shade. Explore the nearby Perfect Cure or Candlebark Nature Walks, stroll up to Merlo's Lookout for views over the landscape or head down to the water to cool down.
Devil Cove is closed seasonally, opening for peak periods (public holidays and school holidays).
This shady campground can accommodate tents and some caravans and campervans. Sites are unpowered. Facilities include wheel-chair accessible toilets and hot showers, gas barbecues and picnic shelters. Water taps are not provided. Please bring you own water. Fees apply and bookings are required.
Visitor Tips: Phone signals are unreliable in the park. Avoid camping under or near large trees. Branches may fall and swing away from the tree at any time. No bins are provided. Please take all rubbish home with you for recycling or disposal.
Fires are only permitted in the fireplaces provided. Firewood collection is not permitted in the park so please bring your own. No bins are provided. Fires must only be lit in the fireplaces provided that: it is not a day of Total Fire Ban, an area of at least 3m around it is cleared of anything flammable, an adult is in attendance at all times (within 50m and in direct line of sight), you have at least 10 litres of water available for immediate use and put the fire out with water, not soil. When the campfire is cool to touch, it is safe to leave.
Take care when swimming, boating or paddling - deep holes, submerged objects, and currents may not be obvious. Supervise children at all times near water.
All plants, animals, other natural features and cultural sites are protected and must not be disturbed or removed. Feeding wildlife is bad for its health. It is an offence to feed or leave food where it is accessible to wildlife. Penalties apply. Please abide by speed limits, drive safely and watch for wildlife. Loud noise can disturb wildlife. Please respect the local wildlife and your fellow campers and keep noise to a minimum. Dogs and other pets are not permitted in the park, except at the Jerusalem Creek Campgrounds where dogs are permitted but must be on a lead at all times.

Candlebark Boat Ramp Closed
Candlebark Boat ramp is now closed due to dropping lake levels.
Due to the lake level dropping below 62%, the Candlebark Boat Ramp in the Fraser Visitor Area of Lake Eildon National Park is no longer operational.
Please use the Main Ramp located off Lakeside Road.
Gap Track - Closed between Pinnacle Track and O’Toole Creek
What?
Gap Track, between Pinnacle Track and O’Toole Creek, is
closed.
- There is no vehicle access to Gap Track directly from Eildon Jaimeson Road. By vehicle, Gap Track must be accessed from Pinnacle Track (when seasonally open), Jerusalem Creek Track, and Simms Track only.
- By vehicle, the shortest way back to the bitumen from this location is via the Simms Track connector to Eildon Jamieson Road.
Why?
This is to protect O'Toole Creek from damage by vehicles
fording the creek, as the bridge over O'Toole Creek has failed. O'Toole Creek
flows directly into White Creek which is home to the critically endangered
Spotted Tree Frog. Spotted Tree Frogs are threatened by loss of vegetation on
creek banks, and by sediment in waterways.
When will it be re-opened?
Gap Track, between Pinnacle Track and O’Toole Creek, will be
re-opened when a bridge or protected creek crossing are installed. There is no
timeframe for this replacement.
What about O’Toole Flat Camping Area
This small camping area has been re-opened. It is accessible by vehicle from Eildon Jamieson Road only, and is designed for self-sufficient visitors. It is recommended for 4WDs with small camping set-ups; long vehicles and towing
vehicles are not recommended.

Tap Water
Drinking water taps and campground taps are not provided at Candlebark Campground, Devil Cove Campground, or Lakeside Campground as of November 2024. Other facilities at these campgrounds remain the same as prior November 2024.
Why have bookings and tap water changed?
We are updating the water and wastewater infrastructure at the Candlebark, Devil Cove and Lakeside campgrounds to meet current environmental standards, so that visitors can continue to enjoy camping at Lake Eildon National Park for years to come. Construction of new toilet facilities is proposed to take place at Lakeside, Candlebark and Devil Cove Campgrounds during the second half of 2025.
