Large tree down on old golf course

A large gum tree has fallen on the north-west side of the old Olinda golf course, onto the botanic garden deer fence. This may affect walkers using the reserve. Please keep clear of the tree and workers as this issue is managed.

Remember to keep your dog under control, pick up after them and take your rubbish home.

Plan Your Visit - Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden Spring 2026

Spring is the peak flowering season at the Dandenong Ranges Botanic Garden, offering three months of vibrant colour and beauty. This is our busiest time of year, especially on weekends, public and school holidays. Please try to visit during the non-peak periods to make it easier to find a park and for a more peaceful visit.

Flowering varies from year to year based on the mountain environment and weather. We are not able to provide daily flowering updates and there is no single "best" time to visit. The cherry blossom grove is an Autumn colour planting and does not produce many flowers; the native birds eat most of them before they get to open!

If possible carpool or take public transport to visit. Our carparks will fill completely at peak times. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
