Upcoming temporary park closure due to aerial deer control program
Budj Bim National Park will be closed from 7am Monday 31st August to 5.30pm Friday 4th September 2026 due to an aerial deer control program. The Budj Bim campground, picnic area, Lake Surprise and Lava Canal circuit walks will remain open. Parks Victoria staff will be on-site at the campground and picnic area to assist with any visitor inquiries.


All other areas of the park will be closed to ensure a safe operation. Staff and/or signage will be located at park entry points and key locations to communicate the closure to the public.
