Enjoy Victoria's parks this long weekend
Friday 5 June, 2026
Victoria’s parks will remain open and welcoming this long weekend, and we encourage visitors to get out and enjoy the outdoors from Friday 5 June to Tuesday 9 June 2026.
While planned industrial action by union members may affect the delivery of some services at certain parks, there is no change to park access. Popular destinations, attractions and visitor sites across the state will continue to operate as usual where it is safe to do so.
What to expect
Visitors may notice:
- fewer ranger‑led programs or visitor services at some locations
- delays to non‑essential activities such as routine maintenance or administrative services.
We can confirm parks will not be actively closed, and facilities such as toilets and walking trails will not be deliberately shut as part of this action.
Safety comes first
Visitor and staff safety remains our priority. Parks will stay accessible where conditions allow, and signage and on‑site information will guide visitors if any local changes are needed.
Parks Victoria is working to minimise disruption and continues discussions on a new Enterprise Agreement that supports our people while ensuring the long‑term sustainability of park services.
We look forward to welcoming visitors to enjoy Victoria’s parks this long weekend and will provide updates if conditions change.
